This 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course was designed by Arnold Palmer in 2004 and is a member of the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO). Since its completion, it has consistently been ranked among the “Top 100 Courses Outside the United States” by Golf Digest.
Tee off from the top of one of the Papagayo Peninsula’s highest plateaus, which overlooks the pacific waters of Bahia de Culebra. Amazingly, there are ocean views on 14 of its 18 holes. Four Seasons’ signature hole, #6, “El Bajo”is a 446 yard par 4 with a tee shot that plays 61 meters (200 feet) downhill to a fairway in the valley below. “El Bajo’s” green is perched out on a cliff with the ocean directly behind it.
The Four Seasons Costa Rica Golf Club at Peninsula Papagayo is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Endorsed by the United States Golf Association, this program provides information and excellence to help golf courses preserve and enhance wildlife habitat and protect national resources. Many trees along the cart path have been labelled, offering a botanical feel with the exotic plants and wildlife species living here on the Peninsula.
The course offers a driving range, a practice sand trap, as well as putting and chipping greens. They also offer weekly clinics and professional private instruction.
