Los Reyes Country Club is a private club located 30 minutes west of San Jose in the Province of Alajuela. Besides their tennis facilities, swimming pool and restaurant, Los Reyes has a 9-hole golf course as well. Designed by Robertson Ward & Associates, it was built by Fred Staples in 1974. An abundance of trees and tree-lined fairways across the rolling terrain are distinctive features of this 2917 yard course, offering quite a challenge to all levels of golfers. Los Reyes offers a driving range, putting green, and private golf lessons as well.
Although Los Reyes is a private club, it does welcome non-members to play their 9-hole course and use their facilities. During the week Los Reyes receives very little use, making it a good place for practice. The weekends however, see most of their members out on the course, and visitors would not feel that “got the whole golf course to themselves” feeling that they will most likely feel on week days.

After playing 18 holes here (played their 9 holes twice) I wasn’t sure I could make it back to the car. All the hills and side-hill lies was more than I am used to. The tree-lined fairways made it even harder. The second time around I had an idea of where I wanted to play it, though I found the ball didn’t always go where I wanted it to go. Quite a challenge.
